This will save you from having to empty the bin manually after each cleaning run.

The robot is priced at a budget and cleans as well as some of the more expensive models. It makes use of random bump-and-run navigation, but the wrong cables or an unintentional socks can cause problems with the clean.

iRobot Roomba j7+

The J7+ is among the smartest robot vacuums that we've tested, with amazing features such as advanced obstacle detection. It connects to your Wi-Fi, allowing you to create a cleaning schedule and block off certain areas of the home for certain times of day. It also works with Alexa and Google Assistant, letting you make use of voice commands to begin and stop your desired schedule. Its navigation system has a high degree of accuracy and doesn't bounce around furniture and walls as much as other models. It can detect objects in your home, including pet waste, power cables and shoes, and will stay clear of them if it detects them.

It can also identify different types of flooring and adjust its head height to absorb dirt more efficiently. It has a difficult time climbing onto high-pile carpet, but it is extremely effective in getting rid of pet hair and other debris from floors that are unfinished.

In our testing the j7+ lasted for about 85 minutes before it needed to dock and recharge. The robot will return to where it left off, and then complete its cleaning job. The battery life is not the longest we've seen in a robot but it's still an excellent run. When the j7+ has been fully charged, it resumes its mapping job and cleaning task.

The out-of-the-box setup is straightforward, and the iRobot application makes it simple to set up a clean schedule and add rooms or floor plans. Its Clean Base is a premium design, with a channeled bin and leather pull tabs that give it a refined appearance. It has some parts that require regular maintenance however, the iRobot app provides instructions and videos for tutorials. It has a maintenance tab that provides information about each part of the machine.

Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

Miele has a reputation of quality and its latest robot vacuum certainly lives up to the expectations. Scout RX3 Home Vision has a smart app and remote control, in addition to voice integrations like Alexa. It's an excellent choice for those who want to automate cleaning. Two cameras on the front of the machine allow it to create an accurate map, which allows it to avoid obstacles and clean all areas. It can clean under furniture or other difficult-to-access areas. It has a 3D smart navigation system, but also efficient obstacle avoidance. This means that it won't become stuck or push light or small objects such as toys or socks.

The app allows you to empty the dust container with just a few clicks. The top of the canister slides open to reveal a handle making it easy to pull out and empty into the bin. Miele also comes with two carpet side brushes, one with six arms to clean hard floors and the other with 20 arms for cleaning high-pile carpets. These can be used together with the vacuum cleaner to clean corners.

The Scout RX3 Home Vision, like other robots in its kind, is able to schedule cleaning times on certain days and in particular areas. The Scout RX3 Home Vision can be controlled by an application on the mobile and also remotely with the remote control or voice commands. In terms of running time the Miele can be cleaned for up to 60 minutes, which is less than other models such as the Ultenic T10 and Roborock S6 MaxV, yet it offers excellent cleaning performance.

Shark IQ robot vacuum and mop with self empty Vacuum

Shark IQ is a budget-friendly robotic vacuum that doesn't sacrifice features. It has a large bin that can hold up 30 days of debris and its navigation system is one of the most efficient available. It also comes with physical boundary strips to prevent it from wandering into areas that you don't want to put it in, and can be operated by voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The companion app lets you see the robot's current status and receive push notifications, pause and resume cleaning sessions, create schedules and more.

The setup is simple and quick with an experienced female voice leading you through each step. Once connected to WiFi, you can use the Shark app to track each clean cycle and view the map of your home's layout (though it only keeps maps for one floor). You can even change the name of rooms using the mapping feature. Its battery performance is great In 'Max' mode, it can last for up to an hour and it recharges more quickly than the other robots we tested.

If you don't have WiFi, you can still operate the robot manually by pressing the two buttons on the top of the robot. These buttons can be used to start or stop cleaning sessions, pause and resume the charging process, or connect it to the dock. The Shark IQ can also be activated with voice commands using your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device. It is equipped with a built-in detection sensor as well as mapping technology that creates the floor plan of your home. It can be controlled using your phone or voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also set no-go zones and schedule it to run whenever you're away from home.

Eufy 11s

Unlike some of its rivals it doesn't require the download of an app and it doesn't need Wi-Fi for operation. It's powered instead by its rechargeable batteries and a remote. This makes it an excellent choice for people who prefer to set a daily cleaning schedule using a remote rather than smartphones or a vacuum cleaner that isn't connected to the internet and can work offline. However, the 11s's lack of connectivity also means that you aren't able to monitor its progress, or receive notifications when it's full of dirt.

In our tests, we found that the 11s did a fantastic job of scooting under furniture and picking up larger particles, like dry oats. It struggled to detect fine dust on carpets, and its sensors weren't always able to detect the edges of the floor. Despite this the 11s was a breeze to navigate and didn't have any major issues with raised floorboards, or stairs. It's battery life of up to 100 minutes which is sufficient for most single-room tasks.

The RoboVac 11s' primary selling point is that it offers excellent performance for the money. It is quiet and does a great cleaning job on medium-pile, low-pile, and empty floors. Its only downsides are its mediocre maneuverability, and the absence of automation features such as boundaries markers or voice controls. If you're looking for these features, we recommend upgrading your Eufy BoostIQ RobotVac 11s. It's more durable and has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and has superior mapping and navigation capabilities. It also manages pet hair better and has higher maximum suction power.
