We didn't find it as good at recognizing our voices, though, and the robot's microphone picks the echoes of ambient noise, which can interfere with its voice-activated features.

Its performance on floors that are not bare is quite impressive. It carries 9.35 grams per run. It might appear to be a tiny amount, but it's enough to be able to keep up with the manual cleaning required by the full-sized machines. It does struggle to climb high-pile carpet, and it may get caught in rug tassels, vacuum but overall it's one of the best robot vacuum and mop with self emptying vacuums for bare floors.

The iRobot Genius function is very useful, as it allows you to create floor plans that the J7+ follows. Samsung's Jet Bot+ robot vacuum is among the top-of-the-line models on the market. It delivers great cleaning, powerful suction, and excellent obstacle avoidance without making a huge racket. It can be controlled using an app specifically designed for it, or by using popular virtual assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant.

The Jet Bot+ connects easily to your Wi-Fi with the help of app prompts. The SmartThings App allows you to schedule cleaning sessions remotely, and also monitor the progress of your device.

You can also make use of the map feature within the app to determine the areas that have been cleaned, and which areas require attention. You can also create 'no-go zones' that restrict the robot from entering specific areas or rooms which you would prefer to be avoid.

As is to be expected from a device with this kind of tech, the Jet Bot+ can detect obstacles in its path, and can even recognise furniture dimensions, walls, and other obstacles thanks to the camera that is on its front. Its advanced sensors prevent it from bumping against things like charging cables and other objects that could cause secondary damages.

It also automatically adjusts its suction to suit the floor it's working on, which is a nice feature for those who have multiple surfaces in your home. This is a feature we haven't seen in any other self-emptying robotic vacuums. It can make a huge difference to how well your vacuum is cleaned.

Another neat feature of this model is its hygienic garbage bin, which iRobot has designed to keep mold spores, pollen and other allergens from leaking back into the air. It has a transparent door on the bottom so you know when it's time to empty it, which is much easier than trying to find the small hole in the side of the bin.

The control of this robot is also top-quality, rarely needing any manual intervention during our tests. It's able of navigating around obstacles like chairs and tables and can operate under furniture with low clearance, thanks to its relatively compact design. It can be programmed to clean a specific area, or you can tweak your home's floor space using the iRobot application.

Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s is an excellent choice for those who want a robo-vac that's effective at light daily cleaning and that does not come with a host of features that are complicated. It's also quiet and can run for up to 100 minutes. However the 11s isn't suitable for all floors, particularly in the case of carpets with high pile. It has a main roller brush (which consists of a combination bristles and rubber flanges) and two trispoked side brushes.

There are many different modes that you can select from when using the 11s, including Auto, Single Room, Spot, and Edge. There's also a manual mode that lets you use the direction keys on the remote control to instruct it to move forwards, backwards, left or right.

In general the 11s does a good job of removing dust and large debris from hard floors, although it has trouble with smaller debris like baking soda. It is also adept at picking up hair from pets.

It's not as intelligent as other robot vacuums. Instead of using more sophisticated mapping software it relies on bounce navigation. It ping-pongs around the floor until its battery runs out which isn't ideal for homes with a lot of furniture or particularly dusty.

The 11s dirt compartment is equipped with an easy-to-empty top and is easily accessible. The filter is designed to be cleaned weekly and replaced every six months or as often. The 11s is backed by a one-year warranty and eufy has a track record for being responsive to issues.
