When the iRobot Combo j7+ realizes that it's in a place that needs to be cleaned using water, a tiny robot arm rises and swings a small mopping pad beneath it. It's a highly intuitive system, and it performed well during my testing. However, I discovered that it was unable to completely remove liquids based on water, like wine or juice. The mopping pad is easily washable and reusable.

The front camera of the iRobot Combo is also very useful. It can spot potential hazards like power cables and pet waste, and will steer clear of them to ensure a thorough cleaning. This is superior to the majority of robot vacuums' cameras, as they can get stuck on things like rug tassels. It's worth noting, however, that the iRobot Combo ju7+'s front camera is prone to blind spots and could miss certain objects.

The mops are great to clean tile or wood, as well as taking care of pet hair, and dirt. They also feature effective obstacle avoidance that doesn't push small and light objects, such as toys or socks, across the floor. It's among the top mopping robots we've ever tested. It comes with a magnetic strip that can be used to block off areas where the robot will not be able reach, for example rooms with lots of cables.

The robot is, however, short of other features of its type. The mops are great however their maximum time of use of 60 minutes is lower than we'd like see in a product with such a price. It also doesn't vacuum after a mopping or automatically empty its charging station.

However, it's still a good choice for those who have large homes as the mapping and cleaning process are fast and efficient. The app is easy to use, and you can make schedules. If you don't have a strong internet connection, you can still control it using the remote, or with voice integrations with Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision isn't cheap but it has many smart features that make up for the price. Its live home monitoring is fantastic, and it looks pretty cool as well. It's a great choice for anyone with pets, children, or just is looking to monitor their home while they are away. Many people who own a robot mop and vacuum claim to be amazed at how quickly their floors get cleaner after starting to utilize them regularly.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

Roborock's newest robot mop and vacuum combo that self empty model, the S7 Max Ultra ($1299 at Amazon), is a great upgrade over the previous S6 and S7 models. It offers a range of useful features including aggressive mopping, higher suction power (up to 5,100Pa as opposed to the earlier models which had 2,400Pa), and more. It also has precise lidar navigation that functions like radar in 3D that is, it can detect things such as baseboards, chairs and furniture legs, and expertly navigate around them. It can create customized cleaning routines you can initiate by tapping the screen, for instance, an "After meal mode" which systematically vacuums and scrubs the kitchen floors.

This two-in-one also has an exclusive feature that isn't found on other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plates when it senses carpeting so that it doesn't get area rugs wet and makes mopping more efficient. It also features a deep-cleaning mode that vacuums and mops carpets in a single pass cleaning more dust and dirt than spinning mops can. You can also use the app to set an agenda for your weekly cleaning or clean on the go.

The S7 Max Ultra is a great device for the purpose it was designed for, but it does have certain drawbacks. The most important is the high cost. It's the highest-priced robot vacuum and mop set-up I've ever reviewed. Other issues aren't specific to this model and more indicative of the robotic vacuum self emptying vacuum category as a whole: it doesn't handle heavy spills or sticky messes with ease.

The S7 Max Ultra can be easily set up: simply connect it to your computer, connect it to your phone using Wi Fi and then begin the cleaning process. After that, you can customize the settings within the app, including setting no-go zones and scheduling cleanings.

Its remarkable obstacle avoidance is another big plus. In the course of testing, it only slid into tight spaces twice, which is superior to the S6 MaxV's three tries, Download free or the X1 Omni's four tries. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstruction, and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it during future cleanings.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is a unique robot that blends mops and vacuums. It's also one of the less expensive combination bots we've reviewed in our review. The Freo's impressive cleaning capabilities and wide array of customization options make it a solid option for any home that requires a combination cleaner. However, the absence of advanced obstacle avoidance and an elegant app dampened our enthusiasm for this model.

The first step in getting the Freo up and running is to conduct a quick scan of your space that will help it map the space it will cover when cleaning. It takes about a minute to complete this process. Once the Freo has a better understanding of where everything is it will be capable of navigating more efficiently during subsequent cleanings.

Another great feature is Freo's ability to identify a room as either mopping or dry vacuuming so that it is more efficient when switching between these functions. It's also smart enough to detect when its mop pads are dirty and will automatically return to the dock for a refill and then return to clean and wet hard surfaces.

A key strength of the Freo is its ability to vacuum and mop well on carpets. The twin mops pads automatically raise when the Freo comes into contact with carpet. This allows it to utilize less energy and resources, while still getting rid of debris. It also thoroughly sucks up sand and oatmeal spills without requiring multiple vac/mop passes.

The Freo's tilted side-brush is a tribute to street sweeper vehicles and is effective at attracting and cleaning up dirt particles. The rounded body and premium finish give the Freo an attractive appearance. You can interact with the robot using an LCD touchscreen on its base station, however we prefered to control it from the app on your smartphone.

The app has a range of options to alter Freo's behavior. These include schedules for busy areas and spot cleanings. There's also the option to turn on parental lock.
