It is important to have the right tools at your side when you're out in the field. This kit was designed with this in mind, and includes all of the essential hand tools needed to repair items in the field. The tools are made of metal and feature the smallest amount of plastic, so they can be used in a variety of ways. The kit includes an open-top canvas coalcracker tools pouch with awl, reamer, twisted cutting shears and gimlet (5MM) sinue spool made of wood, a bottle of coalcracker tool oil and a set of illustrated instructions.

Repair Patches

If you've a hole or two in your gear, you might want to consider adding adhesive patches to your rep kit. These tough patches feature a high-performance glue that is applied to a rugged polyurethane back that allows a tear under pressure to heal. The patches are available in clear or colored versions and are durable against punctures as well as moisture, sunlight as well as extreme temperatures and saltwater.

If your kit isn't stocked with any of the above products, consider adding a bag of waterproof Aquaseal wader repair sealant. This water-tight glue will bond to plastics, fabric, metals, and more for permanent repair. This glue is ideal for repairing drysuits and also employed in the field. Adhesive Patches

If you're on the trail and aren't able to do an entire vulcanising repair the patches that are self-adhesive will get you back in the saddle in no time. Simply roughen the tube with the included scraper, then apply one of the self-adhesive patches to apply the patch.

Clean up the area that has been punctured and then use the tube-scuffer or Rep Kit sandpaper to roughen the surface which helps glue stick. Spread a thin layer on the patch. Cover an area that is at least as large as the patch. Give it a few minutes to allow the glue to turn tacky before pressing the patch into place and holding it firmly in the place.
