The Combo j7+, just like all Roomba models, is great at taking in dirt. Its intelligent navigation is enhanced by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision which allows the robot to identify common objects in its path--such as cords or Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo Self Empty pet waste--and avoid them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ can even evade furniture, including high chairs with backs that could catch the robot under them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ detects that it is on a surface which needs to be cleaned it raises its arm and moves a mopping pad underneath it. It was a very intuitive system that performed well during my tests. However, I noticed that it was unable to completely wipe away water-based liquids like wine or juice. The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, but it performs adequately enough to justify the price. It's a highly rated product from its customers, who love its innovative features. It's worth looking at alternatives, like the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. It's cheaper than the iRobot Combo h7+, and it can heed voice commands with no need for third-party integration. The mops are ideal for cleaning tile, wood and rugs and taking care of pet hair, and dirt. They feature an effective obstacle avoidance system that doesn't push light, small objects such as toys or socks across the floor. It's the best mopping robot we've tested. It has a magnet strip that can be used to block off areas the robot won't be able to reach, such as rooms with lots of cables.

However, the robot is not equipped with the other aspects that are expected of an item of this kind. While the mops do a fantastic job, their maximum running time is 60 minutes, which is a little less than we'd like to see on an expensive product. Also, it doesn't automatically empty itself into its charging station, or follow up the mopping with an easy self-emptying vacuum.

It's an ideal choice for people who live in large houses because the mapping and cleaning processes are fast and efficient. The app is easy to use and you can also set up time frames for when it will be working. If you don't have a reliable WI-FI connection, you'll be able to manage it using the remote or through voice integrations with Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is costly however it comes with many smart features that make up for the cost. Live monitoring of homes is a great feature, and it looks pretty cool too. It's a great choice for anyone with pets, young children, or who is looking to monitor their home when they are away. Many people who own an automated vacuum and mop combo say that they are amazed by how their floors get cleaner after starting to utilize them regularly.

This two-in-one also has a special feature not found on other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plate once it detects carpeting, so it doesn't get the area rug wet, making mopping more efficient. It also features a deep-cleaning mode that vacuums and mops carpets in one go and removes more dust and dirt than spinning mops can. You can also use the app to set the schedule for your weekly cleaning or to clean on the go.

While the S7 Max Ultra does a fantastic job at its tasks but it's not without a few drawbacks. The most notable is the high price tag. It's the most expensive robotic vacuum and mop combination I've reviewed. Other issues aren't specific to this model, but more indicative of the robotic vacuums in general: it doesn't handle heavy spills or large sticky messes well.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to set up: simply connect it to the internet, sync it with your phone using Wi-Fi and begin a cleaning session. Once you've done that, you can customize its settings in the app, for example, setting no-go zones, and scheduling cleanings.

Another major benefit is its impressive obstacle avoidance system. It only slid into tight spaces twice, which is much superior to the S6 MaxV's three tries, or the X1 Omni's four attempts. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstacle and the S7 Max Ultra ignores it in future cleanings.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is a unique robot that combines mops and vacuums. It's one of the most affordable combo bots we reviewed. The Freo's impressive cleaning performance and wide array of customization options make it a solid choice for any home that requires a combination cleaner. The lack of advanced obstacle-avoidance technology and a polished mobile app dampened our enthusiasm for this model.

The first step in getting the Freo running is a quick scan of your home that will help it map the space it will cover when cleaning. It takes about a minute to complete this process. Once the Freo knows where everything is it will be able to navigate more efficiently in subsequent cleanings.

Freo can also identify a room for dry vacuuming, or mopping. This allows it to be more efficient in switching between the two functions. It's also smart enough to detect when its mop pads are dirty and then automatically return to the dock for refills before heading back out to clean and wet hard surfaces.

A key strength of the Freo is its ability to mop and vacuum well on carpets. The two mops pads on the Freo are automatically raised when the Freo encounters carpet which allows it to use less power and resources while still removing dirt. It also gets rid of oatmeal and sand without having to make multiple passes using the mop/vac.

The Freo's unique side brushes tilted are inspired by street sweeper trucks and do well in drawing in and sweeping away dirt particles. The Freo's rounded design and premium finish make it a striking device. You can interact with the robot via an LCD touchscreen at its base station, but we prefered to control it via the smartphone app.

The app offers many options to alter Freo's behavior. These include schedules for busy areas as well as spot cleanings. There's also the option of activating the parental lock. You can also set the length of time that the Freo spends air drying its mop pads as well as make preferences about how often it empties its bin. You can even set the maximum size of the trash bin.
